Evidence status: CURRENT 2026 PRACTICE AGREEMENT. Advanced Pain Care in Olympia currently links an Opioid Treatment Agreement from its live patient-resources page. The linked PDF was uploaded in May 2026.
Quick read
The agreement contains extensive practice conditions layered onto Washington’s state-mandated contract framework. It includes clinic conduct rules, lost/stolen-medication rules, pill counts, outside-prescriber reporting, cannabis and sedative restrictions, behavioral-health and addiction screening, sleep-apnea conditions, drug-testing deadlines, appointment rules, return-to-work expectations, and a clinic dose ceiling.
Selected practice terms
- Lost or stolen opioid prescriptions or medication will not be replaced.
- Random pill counts must be completed within 12 hours of request.
- The agreement prohibits marijuana while opioids are prescribed and states that a verified marijuana result will require discontinuation of opioid prescribing by APC.
- One pharmacy is required for APC-controlled medications.
- Random drug testing is required, with a stated one-hour deadline to submit a sample.
- Repeated lateness and consecutive no-shows can lead to discharge.
- The agreement includes return-to-work expectations for certain patients.
- The practice states a maximum daily opioid dose of 120 mg morphine equivalent.
State rule versus clinic policy
Washington’s rule itself requires several agreement topics, but APC’s exact deadlines, cannabis consequence, conduct provisions, appointment penalties, return-to-work language, and dose ceiling are practice-level additions unless separately required by another binding authority.
