The Spine of this thing of ours

I. WHAT THIS PLACE IS

Seeds of Vice is here to help my community remember where we come from.

To give human beings back the knowledge that was taken from them.

The knowledge of:

how power really works,

how pain has shaped every civilization,

how relief once belonged to everyone,

and how to stand up straight again in a world that wants you obedient, quiet, and afraid.

This is not a blog.
This is not a hobby.
This is a doctrine.

If you want to understand what Seeds of Vice is, you must begin with the three cornerstone texts below. They are the blueprint for everything that follows.

Read them in order.

II. THE FIRST OF THE THREE PILLARS

1. So You Want Change – Rules for Radicals

The Study of Power, Strategy, and Conscience
https://seedsofvice.com/so-you-want-change/

This is the first pillar because nothing changes… not your life, not your pain, not your world… until you understand the nature of power.

This article breaks down Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals in a neutral, honest way. Stripped of ideology, stripped of fear, stripped of the myths that surround him.

It teaches:

how systems operate,

how pressure works,

how change is made,

and how conscience shapes action.

Power is a tool.

The righteous and the wicked both use it.
The only difference is intention.

II. THE SECOND OF THE THREE PILLARS

2. Flowers in the Blood – The Story of Opium

The History of Pain, the Poppy, and Human Suffering
https://seedsofvice.com/flowers-in-the-blood/

The second pillar is history.

Before you understand the politics of pain, you must understand the story of pain and how humanity has carried it, feared it, treated it, and tried to escape it.

This article is built on Jeff Goldberg & Dean Latimer’s book Flowers in the Blood. It traces thousands of years of:

human suffering, medicine, ritual, war, mercy,
and the plant that followed all of it: the opium poppy.

This is not a drug story.
This is a human story.

You cannot understand the present until you understand this.

This is your memory.

III. THE THIRD OF THE THREE PILLARS

3. Opium for the Masses – Jim Hogshire and the Birthright of Relief

The Truth About Pain, Dignity, and Forbidden Knowledge
https://seedsofvice.com/opium-for-the-masses/

The third pillar is mercy.

If Flowers in the Blood is the history, this is the theft.

This article explains:
the book the system never wanted you to read,
the journalist they tried to silence,
the knowledge once held in ordinary households,
and the dignity that was stripped away from pain patients in a single century.

This pillar teaches the hardest truth:

Pain is ancient.
Relief is ancient.
Only recently did governments decide suffering was a virtue and self-medication a vice.

This is your birthright.

III. WHAT THE DOCTRINE MEANS FOR YOU

Seeds of Vice is built on three convictions:

1. Tools are neutral. Character is not.

A plant is not wicked.
A medicine is not holy.
A tool becomes what the hand and conscience make it.

2. Pain deserves mercy, not judgment.

No system, no policy, no ideology has the right to declare your suffering “not enough.”

3. Knowledge belongs to the people, not to empires.

When knowledge is stolen, dependency grows.
When dependency grows, freedom dies.
Seeds of Vice restores what was lost.

IV. WHERE TO GO NEXT

After reading the three cornerstone pieces and ordering the books they are on:

Visit The Addict to understand the identity the world forced onto you.

Visit Handling Pain to learn how to separate sensation from character.

Visit Gardening to understand the plants, seeds, and history that shaped this doctrine.

Visit the Home Page if you are in pain and need a human voice that will not lie to you.

Every other page on this site flows outward from these pillars.

V. IF YOU ARE IN PAIN RIGHT NOW

Here is My Method for dealing with pain.

You are not weak.
You are not immoral.
You are not “less than.”
You are not the villain in someone else’s story for being in pain you cannot bare.

You are a human being confronting limits.

Read these three articles.
They will give you memory, clarity, and dignity again.

Then stand up.
And do what you have to in pain to get out of pain.

If you want change
then you have to change.
